It’s been a whlie due to the fact that we stopped in at Portland International Airport (PDX).
So we fixed that with a short go to to look how construction goes on the brand new roof and other areas, do a little buying, and get a shoe selfie with the terminal’s one remaining patch of vintage PDX carpet.
A full tale will follow, but right here are a few some snaps from a 9,000-step hike through the PDX Airport.
The New Roof
A new nine-acre mass wood roof has been built off-web page and will be put in area over the existing terminal and a terminal extension in massive portions. The first piece of the roof has just been put in vicinity.

The Last Patch of Carpet

The vintage carpet sample at PDX has gained iconic reputation. A new patch is promised for someplace inside the new most important terminal. But until then, the only region to look and snap a selfie with a remnant of the vintage rug is inside the tiny ‘listening room’ at the back of Tender Loving Empire’s shop on Concourse E, close to Gate E5.
Shopping

We didn’t get to do all the shopping we’d deliberate. But have been had been delighted to peer the superb sticker choice on the Made in Oregon keep on Concourse C.
And on the Tillamook Market on Concourse E we spotted ice-cream from Oregon’s famed Tillamook Creamery in addition to Tillamook Cheese Curds, that are only handiest offered here, on the creamery out in Tillamook (86 miles from the airport) and online.
