Helsinki Museums We Love

We traveled to Finland at the inaugural Finnair flight from Seattle to Helsinki on June 1. Now we’re fortunate to spend a few active, happy, days travelling Helsinki and the lakeside Lahti place.

Head right here to look snaps and a few amusing details from our flight over and a “get-to-understand-Helsinki” walking excursion. We’ve moved along to the Lahti place now, but have some Helsinki museum spots to percentage.

Helsinki’s Amos Rex artwork museum occupies the web site of a former bus station and has a popular public rectangular up top and a sunken gallery underneath.

To give you an concept of the kind of art the curators are interesting the city with, right here’s an image of a cacophony of reclaimed chairs flowing over the roof of the constructing that’s one part of a website-unique piece titled The Nest, by way of Japanese cutting-edge artist Tadashi Kawamata.

Finnish Museum of Natural History

Our museum crew loves natural records museums, so we made positive to visit the Finnish Museum of Natural History, which has 5 permanent exhibitions, such as Finnish Nature, World Nature, and The Story of the Bones.

We have been extremely joyful to spot a unprecedented two-headed calf on display as well as skeletons and specimens galore.

More Finland journeying day after today…
