New York’s Albany International Airport (ALB) is on the brink of debut a new exhibition.
The sculptures and prints inside the Lumen exhibition are by using Shaina Gates, Heather Hutchison, and Ben Godward. And all of the works inside the exhibition are engaged with or activated by using mild.
“Visitors will experience shifts in the dimension and man or woman of the art work as daylight and weather alternate over the direction of a day or a season,” said Kathy Greenwood, Director of the Airport’s Art & Culture Program. “Each artist harnesses mild and colour thru complicated and relatively mysterious procedures.”
Assemblies of small, gem-like sculptures by way of Shaina Gates are made from expired black and white photographic sheet film.
The variety of colors consequences from sun publicity and a bunch of chemical and chance situations.
Ben Godward’s hand-pigmented resin sculptures are composed of translucent layers of fantastic coloration.
In the presence of mild, these sculpture venture radiant results on the surfaces round them.
And Heather Hutchison’s minimum paperwork contain meticulously constructed optical shifts that are produced with layers of obvious and opaque substances conditions.
Lumen can be on display inside the Albany International Airport Gallery, placed pre-safety on the third floor of the terminal, from September 24, 2022, via February 27, 2023. Hours: 7 am – 10 pm every day.
