Souvenir Sunday on the unopened BER Airport

For an ever-lengthening listing of reasons, such as what appears to be various degrees of corruption, wild ineptitude and just run of the mill creation issues, the Berlin Brandenburg Airport, which was at the start set to open in 2012, continues to be unfinished.

When will it open? No one seems to recognize. And, now that more than one beginning dates had been missed, nobody appears willing to even deliver it a bet.

And while no one can fly to or from BER Airport, bus tour of the grounds are provided, in German handiest, numerous instances every week.

I went along for this sort of rides and may be working up an extended report shortly. But, because this is Souvenir Sunday here at, I wanted to share a number of the souvenirs I bought at the records station at the base of the viewing tower on airport grounds.

While there has been a show case that confirmed quite a few BER-themed gadgets, consisting of caps,t-shirts, an inflatable ball, a lanyard, a tote bag and a tiny lunch box, the gals at the front table appears amazed – nearly stunned – when I stated I wanted to buy a half dozen gadgets.

Purchases appeared to be so rare that they couldn’t parent out the way to run my credit card thru the gadget and, had it now not been for the 27 Euros in coins my translator loaned me, I wouldn’t have been capable of take domestic what I’m sure are already quite collectible souvenirs.

The little undergo is lovely. The tiny lunch field? Adorable. But I assume my favorite BER souvenir is the tote bag with the picture of the plane made up of food, drink and sports BER passengers will have to wait a long term to experience.
